ZANIMLJIVOSTI ENGLESKOG JEZIKA

Tokom studiranja engleskog jezika, a posebno sada, kada predajem i detaljnije  izučavam taj jezik, sve više sam ubeđena u jednu činjenicu – engleski je čudan jezik J .

Do the shopping i go shopping su dve različite stvari.

This is a very interesting article! After I read the article, I agree with You that English is a strange language. I have never thought about some words and words that are hidden in them. There are lot of funny things in English. For example, why is a wallet called like this while it doesn't have wall? And why is a person who usually thinks about himself called "selfish", while it isn't related to fish? Or, "relationship" doesn't mean relation with ship! It means relation with friends, boyfriend or girlfriends, husband or wife, etc.

I found some other interesting articles about idioms. For example:
"Take the cake" – if something takes the cake, it is the best and takes the honours.
"Cut a dash" – if someone cuts a dash, their clothes and appearance makes an impression on people.
"Thousand pound gorilla in the room" is an idiom which can be used to say something is the biggest problem in relationship between two or more persons.
"Put your foot in your mouth" – if you put your foot in your mouth, you say something stupid or embarrassing.

I really enjoyed while I was reading English idioms and your article, so it would be nice to read more such interesting articles from you. See you on Monday!

This is one of the text after which you change your mind about the English language, or realize that you have been taught incorrectly. I am a person from the other groups, because in elementary and secondary school I had a bad teachers or I looked at the English as a liability.
Now I have the privilege to teach English on easy and more beautiful way. With teacher that their work showed that I have to constantly learn something new and to explore new words and expressions in English. Now it is very difficult for me, but in future it will help me a lot in my communication with other people.
For example, interesting to me is pronunciation of the number 0. Nought or zero, or OH when we say phone numbers. There is also a lot of the same words with different meanings, which English belongs to one of the most interesting language in the world. Who will to remember that all little rules 🙂

  5. I forgot to add some words with funny meaning. For example, one of the largest web sites called Facebook – but there is no book. A person- who goes by the son? Discover – the disc does not go anywhere over. Promotion – there is no movement, but only promote a product.
There are a lot of funny words and expressions in English. We mast to be a little the researchers, because English is not the only Present Simple and Past Simple 🙂

Engleski jezik, kao i svaki, ima svojih trikova i nelogicnih izraza. Naucila sam ga gledajuci serije i filmove i znam neke izraze koje ne pokusavam ni prevesti jer nema smisla 🙂 Definitivno je dobro znati engleski , pa makar neke osnove jezika, jer se jako cesto koristi.
